Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to common questions

PE100 is a higher grade polyethylene material with superior strength and durability compared to PE80. PE100 pipes can withstand higher pressures (up to 16 bar) and have a longer service life (50+ years). The main differences are in density, tensile strength, and pressure rating. PE100 is the preferred choice for modern water supply and gas distribution systems.

PE pipe fittings are typically installed using butt fusion, electrofusion, or mechanical connections. Butt fusion involves heating the pipe ends and fitting surfaces, then joining them under pressure. Electrofusion uses embedded heating elements in the fittings. Proper preparation, temperature control, and fusion pressure are critical for leak-free joints. Always follow manufacturer guidelines and use certified equipment.

Standard uPVC pipes are suitable for temperatures from 0°C to 60°C. For higher temperatures up to 90°C, CPVC (Chlorinated PVC) should be used. It's important to note that pressure rating decreases as temperature increases. At 60°C, the pressure rating is typically reduced to about 50% of the rating at 20°C. Always consult temperature/pressure derating charts for your specific application.

PE100 pipes have a design life of 50+ years under normal operating conditions. Many PE systems installed 40+ years ago are still functioning perfectly. PVC pipes also have a design life of 50+ years for drainage and sewerage applications. The actual service life depends on operating conditions, installation quality, and environmental factors. Both materials offer excellent long-term durability when properly installed.

Our products carry multiple international certifications including ISO 9001 (Quality Management), ISO 4427 (PE pipes for water supply), NSF/ANSI 61 (Drinking water systems), ASTM standards, CE marking for European markets, and WRAS approval for UK applications. We also maintain various national and regional certifications based on specific market requirements.
